Volunteer Roles | TYMBA

cropped-512-logo.pngWe’re looking for two new members of the Traditional Youth Marching Bands Association team to take on two specific volunteer roles; Band Development Officer and Resource Manager.

Below are the job descriptions for the roles and who to contact if you want to get involved.

Band Development Manager
You’ll have noticed that TYMBA has been going through a transformation; better communication, a new website, more use of social media and improving the way we look.  Now we want to show this off to the world! Well, the world of traditional youth marching bands across the UK.  We know we’re there, but they don’t know we’re here for them.

We’re looking for a volunteer Band Development Manager to find the best way to spread the word about TYMBA; talk to bands and bring them on as new members of the association.  Another task will be to talk to past members and understand why they haven’t returned to the association and how we can turn that around.

This is a voluntary position and could either be an on-going role, or, you could take it on as a project over a timescale you see fit, to turn around how we develop bands.

If you think this could be a role for you, or you have any questions, email our Chairman, Carl Nelson on chairman@tymba.org

Resource Manager
At TYMBA we’re always looking for new ways of helping our member bands in any way we can.  We’re currently overhauling our website and think we could be using it even more to help our bands.

We’re looking for a volunteer Resource Manager to primarily look after the Membership section of our website; you’ll curate our recently launched Music Library, build links with suppliers to offer discount and other benefits, hunt out fundraising streams for our members to apply too and make sure documents in the section are up to date.

This is a volunteer position, working in your own time with plenty of assistance from the TYMBA Committee.  Access to software like Sibelius would be an advantage, as would be some experience of using Word Press, although training can be provided.

If you think this could be a role for you, or you have any questions, email our Vice Chairman, Andy Downton on news@tymba.org
