TYMBA bands support new Daventry competition

Eight bands will perform in the TYMBA section of the Summer Rhythm Competition, coming to Daventry on Sunday 9th July 2017.

This is the first competition to be held jointly between the Traditional Youth Marching Bands Association and BYBA, British Youth Bands Association, with bands from both organisations taking to the arena.

Bands will not compete across organisations – TYMBA bands will be scrutinised by TYMBA Judges, to usual TYMBA rules and BYBA will do the same.

Andy Downton, TYMBA Vice-chair and organiser of the TYMBA competition, said:  “This is a great day for bands from each organisation to see what the other styles get up to.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing the bands get together after the competition, for a jamming session.

“I want to say thank you to the bands who are supporting the event and wish them all the best of luck for the day.”

The random draw for the order in which the bands will perform has been completed, with timings to follow shortly.
