Twelve bands to take to Halesowen competition arena

Twelve bands will take to the lawn at Dudley’s Himley Hall for the first Traditional Youth Marching Bands Association competition of 2017.

The Halesowen Marching Band Competition returns to the venue, once again, as part of the Armed Forces Day event on Sunday 25th June 2017.

Bands will perform in their TYMBA classes in front of a crowd of around 4000 people, being judged on their marching and playing.

At the end of the day, five bands will then combine with the RAF Cosford Voluntary Band for a beating retreat ceremony.

Organiser Paul Wong said:  “It’s great to see so many bands joining in with the competition, being part of Armed Forces Day, this is a great event for traditional youth marching bands.

“There are plenty of other activities, stalls, attractions and rides, so people can come and enjoy the day with free entry.”

The bands taking part will be:

Open Class:
Coseley Comets
3rd Davyhulme Scout & Guide Band
Marching Band of St Gregory’s

Contest Class:
Grafton District Scout Band
